AN SYSTEMIC APPROACH OF FREE TRADE AGREEMENT IN THE GLOBAL ENVIRONMENTAL GOVERNANCE THE SUCESS MODEL
ABSTRACT
The main aim of this paper is to give a broad understanding of the bilateral, economic relationship between Korea and Australia as middle powers by reflecting their positions in the global environmental governance. By ratifying FTA between South Korea and Australia, both faced new challenges and opportunities which can develop new sustainable development models for developing countries even if the Committee on Energy and Mineral Resources Cooperation was built through KAFTA. More radical attempts to broaden their roles in the global environmental governance can be made through KAFTA, reflecting the belief that the revaluation of middle powers can be transferred to cooperation and negotiation for sustainable development. As a case study, this paper evaluates the hypothesis that the Republic of Korea and Australia which are middle powers can play a vital role in global environmental governance as good international citizens, and writer emphasized on how effectively both can develop KAFTA as a new model of sustainable development in the global environmental governance. Books, and government sites, articles were used to analyze the background of the two countries, and their roles and interests in sustainable development as their national policies.
